Congregation Committees

St. Andrew’s Constitution requires the establishment of five committees, made up of both members of the Congregational Council and members at large. If you are interested in serving on any of these committees, please contact the Parish Manager through the church office.

  • Executive Committee
The Congregation President, Vice President, Secretary, and the pastors together constitute the Executive Committee, which sets the agenda for monthly council meetings and the annual Congregation Meeting. It also performs duties of the Human Resources Committee in its absence.
  • Nominating Committee
This committee recruits candidates for the Congregation Council election held during St. Andrew’s Annual Meeting and oversees the election itself. It is made up of two members from the Congregation Council and three people elected by the congregation.
  • Financial Review Committee
The Financial Review Committee of three voting members is appointed by the Congregational Council for three-year terms, with one member appointed each year. This committee annually reviews all accounts of the congregation.
  • Mutual Ministry Committee
Members of this committee identify the needs of the pastors and staff, providing emotional, spiritual, and prayerful support.
  • Call Committee
When a pastoral vacancy occurs, the Congregational Council appoints six voting members of the congregation to serve on a Call Committee, which consults with the office of the Bishop of the Oregon Synod, completes a Congregational Assessment, interviews at least two candidates, and recommends one individual to the Congregational Council to fill the vacancy.
