St. Andrew’s Prayer Shawl Ministry began in May 2006, when a church member’s mother received a shawl while she was in the hospital. The member was so touched by the comfort the shawl brought to her mother that she decided to start the ministry at St. Andrew.
About ten members meet quarterly to knit and crochet shawls and to share in fellowship. The shawls are woven with prayers and love as they are made. Materials and patterns are provided for all who want to participate, whether you attend the meetings or not. Knitters and crocheters are asked to provide their own needles and hooks.
St. Andrew prayer shawls are given to anyone who needs to be wrapped in the hugging, healing embrace of our Lord. They are a special comfort to the bereaved and those afflicted by illness or the work of recovery.
