Community/Neighbor/Self Care

God Care + Earth Care + Community Care + Neighbor Care + Self Care

“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

John 13:34-35

Community/Neighbor Care

Whether in providing food for the hungry, a welcome to strangers, clothing for those in need, or care for the sick, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me.” (Matthew 25:40)

The people of St. Andrew Lutheran Church have committed themselves to serving others. In the tradition of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, we believe that we do God’s work with our hands and thus we have several ministries devoted to improving the lives of others.

Self Care

Just as God has loved and cared for us, we strive to care for each other. Most of the caring at St. Andrew happens naturally as you get to know others connected to the ministry; as relationships grow, you extend care and concern to others and they return the same to you.

Times also arise in each of our lives when something more is needed. The pastors of St. Andrew Lutheran Church, along with the caring and health ministers, extend to you their care and concern for your psycho-social, physical, and spiritual well-being. When particular challenges arise, these ministers strive to be present with you, to listen to your struggles and joys, and to pray with you for strength, healing, and direction.
