The Loyalty of Ruth and Esther
May 4 – 25, June 1, 2025, 11:00 am
Sr. India Jensen Kerr
St. Andrew Room
During the Easter season we are privileged to see the faith and loyalty of women in the Gospels. Women were at the cross with Jesus and then shared the news of his resurrection. There are equally devoted women in the Hebrew Bible. Both Ruth and Esther are loyal to their people and do what is in the best interest of their community. Through Ruth and Esther, we will see examples of what it means to be faithful to God and what lessons we can take to improve our own lives of faith.

This class is for new Lutherans who want to know more about what they signed up for, for long time Lutherans who need a refresher, and for anyone who is curious about Lutheran faith and practice.
What was important about the Protestant Reformation? Can we compare the Lutheran Church with other Protestant Churches? How is the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America different from other Lutheran denominations? How have people from divergent traditions (Lutheran, Catholic, non-denominational, unchurched, etc.) found their way to the ELCA? What makes St. Andrew unique in its Core Values, Mission, and Vision? And most important: what questions do you have about “What does it mean to be a Lutheran?”
