Quantum Faith
February 16-23, March 2, 2025, 11:00 am

Kyler Vogt
Fellowship Hall

Science and faith have been, at least apparently, at odds with one another for much of the last four hundred years. If faith is trusting in the unseen, and science is believing only what we can see, what could be more black-and-white? However, as science has continued to advance into the study of quantum mechanics, these categories don’t seem as clearly cut as they once were. Has the journey into the quantum realm muddied the waters? Part science and part theology, this class will engage with topics like gravity, entropy, wave-particle duality, and the big bang (in a way that everyone can understand) as we explore just how shockingly similar our traditions of faith and science might be.
