Life is the meeting place.
Spirituality is meeting God in all that life is.

What is Spiritual Direction?
Christians have practiced spiritual direction/companionship for centuries. A Spiritual Director is a companion for a person on their spiritual journey, a “soul friend.” Spiritual Direction encourages you to explore a closer relationship with God. In the midst of a busy life, many people find it difficult to notice God’s action in their daily affairs. Yet, at the deepest level, all of us long for a more conscious experience of God’s presence and love.
The conversation may include prayer, spiritual disciplines, discernment of God’s call and the integration of self.
Why would one have a Spiritual Director?
The spiritual direction relationship provides a “safe” place and “holy” space in which a person can look at their relationship with God in the experiences of life.
Persons may seek spiritual direction for any number of reasons. Among them:
┼ To deepen one’s prayer life
┼ To learn to identify one’s experiences of God
┼ To learn to trust one’s experiences of God
┼ For companionship on the spiritual journey
┼ For help in choosing among the options in one’s life
┼ To find encouragement, affirmation
┼ To integrate spirituality into the whole of life
┼ To grow into deep intimacy with self, others and God
┼ To develop a more wholehearted response to God’s love
How often does a person meet with a Spiritual Director?
Sessions are usually scheduled once monthly for an hour to an hour and a half. Periodic mutual evaluation gives an opportunity to look at the relationship and reflect on how one’s needs are being met.
